National Trades Institute (NTI) was established in Brisbane in 2009. The Director and Management of NTI have over 15 years experience in the education sector in Australia. Over two years ago we recognised the large skill shortage in many trade fields. Of particular interest was the large skill shortage in the Electrotechnology industry, particular in the area of refrigeration and air-conditioning. Factors such as the mining and construction boom have contributed greatly to this skill shortage. Other factors including licensing, environmental issues and the lack of training options have also been major contributors to the skill shortage. deliver innovative programs that suit the industry The other programs in business and management offered are designed to ‘round out’ the student's knowledge base. Many trades people are the frontline for their employers and some will move into operate as sole traders. Therefore a thorough understanding of the principles of business and management are essential. NTI’s premises are located at Kangaroo Point. Both practical and theory classes are held on campus. In addition, when necessary, off campus practical work placement forms a significant part of the delivery and assessment of NTI’s qualifications. For the on-campus practical training NTI will utilise real industry equipment, supplemented with simulation and our own facilities. So whether you are already involved in the industries we serve or wish to begin a career in it we encourage you to consider NTI. Mr Cameron Lloyd |
